The thirty-eight year old woman didn't remember when she had been attacked, but she did remember going back to her car. That was her last memory, so probably she was assaulted at that moment. Now finding herself naked and wrapped up in some sort of plastic to a table, like an animal, she confirmed that theory.
"Well, I've had worse" sighed the orange-haired woman, staring at the ceiling.
"Of course you had" whispered back a male voice.
A middle.aged man appeared seemingly from thin air, as if he was a shadow, waiting in the background for her to regain conciousness. She hadn't been surprised to see him; she knew whoever captured her would show up sooner or later.
"Rena Ryuugu" declared the man. "Japanese, thirty-eight years old... and the sole survivor of the Hinamizawa Disaster."
Rena didn't meet his gaze. She tried to look away, but she could feel his icy glare stuck on her, insisting her to speak.
"Do you recognize any of this?" only then did she notice the pictures on the walls.
"Rina-chan" she recognized her to her left. "And Satoko's uncle, too. And... why is Rika-chan there?"
"Rika Furude was found dead on the shrine before the whole town died" he looked down on her. "But you already knew taht, didn't you, Rena?"
"I... I admit it. I killed Rina-chan... and I killed him too. But I didn't... I couldn't kill Rika-chan!"
"That's what they all say..." he said, getting his gloves ready.
"You don't understand!" claimed Rena, now meeting his eyes. "I couldn't! I was about to kill her, back when I was fifteen but... I just couldn't. Just like I couldn't kill Keiichi-kun. They're my friends!"
Dexter snorted. "And exactly why should I believe you? You confessed the other murders, does an eleven year old girl's murder change that fact?"
"I'm not asking you to spare me" she quickly corrected.
"Excuse me?" he frowned. "Are you asking me to kill you?"
"Well, there's no escaping it, is there?" she laughed fakely.
"You might just be the first one to admit their guilt."
"I lost everything on that day" she confessed. "My father, my friends... everyone. And a day before that, I had lost my mind. I had tried to murder my friends, if Keiichi-kun hadn't..." he heard sobbing; she was truly crying. "You have no idea what it's like... keep living like this... the sky is dark, like black ink that doesn't ever erase, and the stars, they never shine... just like the sun doesn't warm me up anymore..."
Dexter looked at her for a minute, then he picked up his tools, proceeding to take a drop of blood from her cheek to his collection.
"If that is so, then I'll end your suffering" he said. "Because, in the end, you're still a murderer..."
Rena sighed. "Do as you please."
The lights turned off, and the saw started running.
