Last night, at my parents' house for Pasta Night, I was sitting on the sofa and drinking my coffee and I got that feeling. That bad, viruses-settlin'-down-for-a-party feeling in the back of my throat. Bobby had a hockey game late last night in Columbia, so I just went home and crashed and didn't even hear him come in ( Read more... )

Ugh-oh! It sounds like you should be home and in bed right now, sipping on hot tea and reading something warm and fuzzy. I could always send Findekano over to look after you since he's been a nice lad and he has oblijibgly cooperated with me in his parts of the Valentine story. I think you could even ask him and Maitimo to get in bed with you, and keep you warm, without worrying that they'll be naughty. They've had their fill over here. o_O

Seriously, I just hate the way I feel just before I get a cold. I mean, sure, it sucks to cough and have a running nose, but the exhaustion, headache and that nasty feeling in the back of your throat are way worse.

I hope you get better. Look after yourself.

*hugs Dawn*

Bobby just called me and asked, "Why don't you ask to go home?" I suppose I could. There's four of us in the office today, as two of the warrant officers have taken permanent residence in the office next to mine. But I really don't like missing work.

Findekano is always welcome. And that story...!!! How many days 'til Valentine's day?? :^D I'm also going to try to write today. I have a Carnistir chapter to work on and a naughty!fic for isil_elensar's belated birthday present.

It's funny because, whenever friends are sick, I send Findekano to them too. I think that he must be a decent healer, if he kept Maitimo from dying on the ride back from Thangorodrim.

The good thing is that I can almost feel myself healing, so I'm hoping a night off with help with that. :) And thank you for the well wishes!

*disinfects self* and *hugs Alina back* :^P

Sorry about my little freak-out there! Fingy is mine! Anyway, AWWWW---you poor thing! I know how you feel, cause yesterday I felt like shit and was sure I was getting sick, but fortunately a good night's sleep cured it! I've had writer's block for two days but it came back today a little bit although I wasn't as prolific as usual. I HATE feeling too sick to write. It's not so bad if you can work while you're sick, but I really can't abide those illnesses that won't let you do anything because your head is all fuzzy. And I sympathize with your abhorrence of ringing phones. They are just too hideous.

You are more than allowed to freak out where Findekano is concerned. Although I just realized that I have pimped my Maedhros to both Alina and Tarion this week for "studying" purposes. Hmmm. (Tarion was "studying" anatomy, and your Finarfin fic has shown Maedhros to be adept at teaching *that*!) So maybe I'm not such a...erm...devoted Elf-handler as you. ;)

I'm glad to hear that you're doing better. I was worried about you! I can't have my unfailingly cheerful and optimistic counterpart not feeling well! ;)

I'd imagine you can relate to ringing phones, working in a doctor's office. Luckily, since our bureau chief moved to another office, the phone doesn't ring nearly as much. That used to drive me crazy, as he was never here and people would want to know where he was. Like I knew? I felt like saying, "I'm not his f***ing keeper! Call his damned cell!"

Oh, I owe you an email about the RPG, so I will go do that now. :)

Thank you. :)

Viruses are made less fun by the fact that they're completely untreatable. So the best I can do is treat my immune system very nicely and hope it comes through for me.

(I just treated it to a Dr. Pepper! I hope it likes that. ;^D)

You should definitely take the night off! Rest is good!

*gives Carnistir a cookie and tells him to be nice, stears him over to Dawn*

Lol, I think all of the Feanorians are at Dawn's right now! And Fingon, too. I hope they will take good care of her, 'cause if they don't, they will have a lot of explaining to do.

Awww... if he manages to look genuinely embarassed and afraid of the consequences, I'll forgive him. I know he's a naughty good guy and he hearts Dawn as much as we do.
