"Discovering Love," for enismirdal

Dec 21, 2005 10:59

Eni asked for grown-up Maedhros, Maglor, and Fingon (with a slash pairing if I/they wanted it), with one happy moment and one naughty-but-nice moment (het or slash), with a cameo by a bumblebee and extra points for the inclusion of a bowl of cherries.

Whew! I think I managed all that!

I am giving this story an adult rating for all that naught-but ( Read more... )

fingon, maedhros, holiday gifts, maglor, maedhros/fingon, maglor/ofc, short story

I'm back home a little earlier than I had initially thought which is good, not only because I can have a propper meal with my family on Christmas Day, but I can also begin the marathon of reading your stories. And boy am I glad I started with this one ( ... )

And, according to history, flowers kinda sprang beneath Kano's feet at some point, right?

Close, but I'm pretty sure that was Fingolfin.

Mmmm... I know what you mean, but I think the book says that they unfurled their banners and flowers sprang beneath their feet. I guess, if flowers decided to spring beneath the feet of the father they would have sprung beneath those of the son as well.

But that's beside the point and of little consequence to this beautiful story.

Actually, on page 126 of the early-1980s Ballantine paperback version of the published Silm, it does specify Fingolfin: "...and Fingolfin unfurled his blue and silver banners, and blew his horns, and flowers sprang beneath his marching feet..." Of course, there's nothing keeping you from extending this to Fingon as well, especially if you conceive of Fingon as sticking close to his father on the march.

Thanks for the info. Wish I had the Silm in published form so I could check things up more often. As it is, i've only got it on my comp. I guess I'm not exactly spot on with the details :) But it's the part of the Silmarillion where Feanor dies and I always go through a few pages in "yea, whatever, Feanor just died!!!r" mode after that.

On a lighter note, I could just call Nolofinwe&Sons Kano since all their names can be shortened to this nick name.

Though Aredhel can't. Perhaps we could nickname her Inyaká'no ("Female Káno") or something?

Female Kano?... Hmmm, I guess we could. After all, she was rather bossy, adventurous and liked to do boy's stuff like hunting and going on extensive camping trips.

Eh, when flowers sprang beneath Fingolfin's feet, it's a pity the others trampled them. >;)

Wow! You really did read them! *is impressed and--must admit--quite flattered too* :^P

First and foremost, welcome to the "dark side" ! >:-) You have done a fine job at making an unconventional relationship seem so natural, in a world of Elves that are, fortunately not restricted by the "teachings" of LaCE.

Thank you! *takes wee welcome basket that includes silk scarves, massage oil, feather, bowl of cherries...* Ahem.

I think it is natural, but you know my opinions on that. ;) And you also know about my "dark side" bunny, so Eni gave me a good excuse to practice!

LOOOOL! That made me snort coffee all over my comp again. I should have learned my lesson and stopped drinking coffe while reading your stories or comments.

Lol! Sowwy! :^P I've had three confessions of computers taking drink baths while reading my stories in just a few days: two from you and one from niothwen. Maybe I should post a drink warning before each story? ;)

Feanaro making cherry pie... Yummy! I want some of his cherries!(don't we all...)

0:^D <--that's lil' ( ... )
