I was just thinking today, "I miss Dawn. She posts so often, and now *poof*! Vanished!" Of course, I knew you were starting NaNo, but still...

Anyway... *waves colorful flags* Happy writing!

Aww...thanks, Allie :) It's nice to know that I'm missed. (Although it also verifies my LJ-addiction when others notice the...ahem...frequency of my posts too!)

If I reach 50K as soon as I think I will--and I'm hoping that I'm not jinxing myself by saying that--then I'll likely resume my usual posting frenzy. But that depends on my muses (and you know how they are!)

We're here for ya! So if you feel the need to start hollering from frustration, just shout! *shakes pom poms* I'm also hoping to reach the 10k mark soon. I just now got to dad's house again, and I need to do a bit of movie watching (Rivendell in FotR - for inspiration purposes), and then I'ma gonna write. :-)

Oh! And you don't *have* to share what you write, but you can post your word count and stuff like that. Kinda something like what I'm doing... the Word Countdown posts in my LJ. I thought about sharing my entire chapters, but decided excerpts were better. Teasers, if you will. Once the story is beta'd (after NaNo) and ready to be released, y'all can read the entire thing... ;-)

I've been keeping my word count on my NaNo profile...although, already, I forgot to update it. :-/ I'll try to remember today.

I'm hoping to pass 10K today. I have no doubt that I could get *well* past 10K, as I have an evening with relatively nothing to do, but tonight's reserved for starting holiday candy. And house cleaning. Poor hubby is so patient with my writing already, I can't bear to leave him with dirty rugs and no clean clothes! ;)

I can't promise that I'll ever share my story with anyone. But that's always my way. I can't write if I have in mind writing for an audience, so I write for myself and edit it later for an audience, if I want. (Truth be told, that's probably what I'll do. I always cave and share my writing.)

Where did you get your nifty word count meter? I'd like one for my userinfo page, but I poked around the NaNo site and couldn't find any.

Good luck to you! Once we reach 10K, we're 20% of the way there...that's pretty good after only three days. *waves little celebratory flags*

10,563 and will be adding more later on today. Maybe, if I'm lucky, I can get to 15k before Saturday and take a well earned day off. Of course, I won't be thinking 'well-earned day off', more like 'why can't i write more?!'

Lol! I hear you there! My muses are already protesting the fact that tomorrow is posting Friday (necessitating a *gasp* half-hour break from writing to post the next chapter of AMC), and this weekend is my first wedding anniversary, so they'll have to live with that. I'll take them out to dinner, to the restaurant where Bobby and I had our reception dinner. That should keep them happy. (Although my husband might look at me strangely for ordering food for invisible Elves.)

And thanks so much for the links! Now I can have a nifty word meter on my userinfo page. Now I just need to remember to update it....

I'm not participating in this for various reasons but I'm happy to join the cheerleading section, go you! Keep letting us know how it's going.

No fear, I'm sure to make the occasional semi-coherent post to let you all know I'm still alive! :)

Btw, your icon is beautiful...I saw that you posted the one painting in your LJ yesterday. That kept me from writing for a good five minutes! :-D

Whooops! Five minutes lost! Worth it though, huh? *grins*

LOL! You and Isil are doing great on the totals! If I included the chapter I wrote yesterday on my Curufin story then I'd probably be in the same range as you two crazy writers, but I'm at 6798 on the 3rd day, and I think that's OK considering that at least two other story characters are nipping at my ankles. Actually, they're doing more to me than nipping and it isn't in the ankles. Down, Curufin! Down Finrod! Down boys! I can't right now! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!.....*being dragged away by the hair by 2 hott Elves*.......

dawn_felagund November 3 2005, 15:38:40 UTC
6798 is awesome! To make 50K, we have to write 1667 per day, which means that--by the end of day three--we should have written 5001 words. So you're well ahead of that goal, and day three is far from over.

I've realized, in the past two days, that during some of my sprints while writing AMC, I probably totalled at least 50K per month. But it's still fun to have a goal in mind, whereas, usually, I'd take long breaks between sections. (Hence AMC taking so long.)

*being dragged away by the hair by 2 hott Elves*.......

Lol! Curufin and Finrod?! My, variety is the spice of life! Okay, I'm getting pervy thoughts, so I'm going to stop now, before I embarrass myself! ;-P

Oh, now you've got me thinking v. pervy thoughts. A three-way? Hmmmm. Never wrote a three-way before. Hmmm. Dawn's fault that Jenni is going to work three-way sex into one of her fics. All scientific and experimenting with new kinds of writing, of course! Still Dawn's fault, tho, if anyone wants to complain.

Lol! With subjects like Finrod and Curufin, I don't think anyone's going to complain. ;)

(But I'll gladly take the blame if they do!)

As long as you are happy with your story!
That's the main thing!!!

So far so good...let's hope it stays that way! :)

I've lived with this story in my head since the beginning of the RPG, about a year ago, and usually when I live with characters for so long, they become irresistible. (Hence the Feanorians capering up there right now!)

How is it that some of us have come to be cursed with this? Not that I'm complaining.... ;)
