Bobby and I went to the climate rally today that was held in Vermont's capital city of Montpelier. Oh, it was tempting to try to go to DC again! But I decided against it. For my generation, who grew up with all the scenarios about how "if we don't change things now, we will only feel the results in 30 years but we WILL feel them", the alarm of the past years has either been serious annoying (YES WELL THIS WAS PREDICTED 30 YEARS AGO!) or, unfortunately, has a bit of a numbing effect (WELL WE'VE BEEN WARNED FOR SO LONG NOW THAT WE NO LONGER CARE) and gives rise to a bit of a YOLO attitude.
But at least, the sceptics - aside from a minority - tend to be of the grandparental generation, so we all get to shake our heads in unison at those dumb 'mericuns (present company excepted) who just don't get it. ;)
