I had to let the video upload on YouTube run overnight because of my current Internet situation but--at last!--the video of my presentation on Saturday at Mythmoot is finally ready. The full title (which is too long to fit in the title field) is "Transformative Works as a Means to Develop Critical Perspectives in the Tolkien Fan Community." The ( Read more... )

OK, I had a chance to listen to the presentation and I have to say, I loved it. You pulled a large amount of information into a relatively short talk and your handout was excellent, readable and easy to pick out the pertinent statistics quickly. The only question I had on the handout was on page 8. I believe that Pande had mentioned the difficulty of the yellow text, and I have to agree with her. You've got an 87% agree response but I can't read the question that prompted the 3rd highest response.

This time when I listened to your presentation you sounded a bit less rushed after you passed your first page and settled into your rhythm. I amend my earlier comment that you sounded rushed to you started out sounding rushed, but settled down to a clear delivery soon.

I have to say that I enjoyed the talk as well as the handout very much and I thank you once more for both giving this presentation as well as sharing the data and handouts with us. If nobody has told you recently that you rock, I'll make up for that lack.

YOU TOTALLY ROCK, DAWN FELAGUND!

Oh, and I qualify for a drabble. How about something with Nahar since I'm in a 'horsey' mood tonight...?

I definitely need to work on my pacing. I sound normal to me. Then I hear myself and am like, "GOOD GOD, DAWN!!" :D I need a lot less Miriel Serinde in my life! This year, I was sensitive about time (my presentation was just a bit longer and edging close to the limit, and I was also on a four-person panel, so with less wiggle room than the three-person panels had). Also, I didn't record myself ahead of time, like I did last year.

Here is the yellow question with the 87% agree rate: "Writing fan fiction helps me to see connections within Tolkien's universe."

And Nahar it is! :D

Thank you so much for reading my draft, listening to my presentation, and giving me feedback at every step. I appreciate it so much! *hugs*
