If I was seven feet tall…

*snicker* There’s that “height” thing again…

It is too much to copy and paste, but I love the long paragraph describing how Fëanor and Nerdanel would have reacted to the clearing and the dancing. It is so perfectly them.

Love the rumours of unexpected “weddings” and how you show that nobody actually knows anyone who that has happened to.

…so like my father I sound!

I like this line, and not only because it’s about Fëanor. They way, throughout this piece, that you have shown a connection between Fëanor and his sons works very well, and I think it is important to help understand why they would follow him so steadfastly later on in life.

I also like how you depict his dislike for the courtiers, and theirs for him. It is easy to forgive someone their ill deeds when you like the person to begin with, but when you already dislike them for whatever other reason, it is much easier to condemn them.

And the fact that you called him Prince Feanaro just makes him sound so very uber hott. Sorry - putting the fangurl away…

OK. The fangurl is back.

OMG that was so hott. And all they did was kiss. I don’t think I’d be able to handle if you wrote out and out smut. I can’t even come up with anything coherent to say except OMG.

And I love this (just like I love all of it…)

I can close my eyes and stop my ears when you need me to. That doesn’t bother me. I learned to sleep through just about anything during those two years when Ada was certain that every night was the night he would beget Carnistir

Too funny.

And I didn’t get this until the second time I read it..

Manwë in Varda

Manwë….in… oh sporfle!!!

Another brilliant chapter and I am ever greedy for the next. You capture each son’s personality beautifully.

Dammit! I keep doing that! :D

Blame it on an education in social science and an interest in urban legends :) This would be, I suppose, the Elvish version of an urban legend, where the event is always slightly beyond what a person can confirm for his/herself. You know, "My brother's best friend's sister's hairdresser said she knew a woman whose daughter died of a toxic combination of Pop Rocks and Pepsi." Who can confirm that? But people believe it nonetheless.

Incidentally, there is an Urban Legends Challenge at HASA right now. I have a nuzgul latched onto my leg as we speak. It is tempting to try submitting this chapter, but I don't think that will quite dislodge it (as the original idea still begs to be written). Okay, I'm rambling.... :D

I think it is important to help understand why they would follow him so steadfastly later on in life.

That was my whole point in beginning this, after all! :) I'm glad it's working.

I also like how you depict his dislike for the courtiers, and theirs for him.

I just have trouble picturing Feanor as being interested in the intrigue of court. I have seen plenty of stories that have him as such--and do it well--but my Feanor simply cannot. I have always seen him first as an artist and craftsman and next as an adoring husband and father. He only serves his "duty" at all to the court out of fear for being usurped by his brother. Just my opinion; my version of Feanor, of course :)

I don’t think I’d be able to handle if you wrote out and out smut. I can’t even come up with anything coherent to say except OMG.

LOL! Yay for the fangurl! Just to warn you, there are two more chapters of Maitimo, then Nerdanel speaks for a while. So get ready.... :D

Thank you :) And now what about "Spirit of Fire?" Hmm? (Sorry--requisite harassment for updates!)
