O_O The virus I mentioned is one that brings a violent sickness and vomits during a 24-48 hours period. All my family has now been affected except just five.... and for the first time in my life I´m one of those five. I´m quite afraid, though. Wish I knew where it came from...
Luckily, what has afflicted us has not involved vomiting! Just aches and fever and misery ... and this awful rattling cough that sounds like we all belong on the consumption ward. But what's hitting your family sounds much worse. I hope everyone is better soon!
Is it possible that it's foodborne? Has everyone shared a meal anytime recently? The stats in the US for foodborne illness is that 33% of adults are affected annually, and most write it off as a "stomach flu" with symptoms like you describe.
Could it be foodborne? Hmmmh... The three originally infected people were among us on Christmas Eve, but they didn´t eat anything with us. On the other hand, they had brought a couple of things that they had themselves made at home... and I happened not to like either of them, so I just took a bite if anything.
I wish it was that. I would feel less threatened by the very air people are breathing!
And take care yourself. Rattling cough does not sound fun either!

Incidentally, this is a British flu that they brought over with them from England. I think the whole world is sick!
