Weekend Madness + Shooting
Yup, it was a pretty crazy weekend (I consider Monday to be a weekend day, since it's one of my weekend days, lolol)! Which is funny, 'cause I didn't think it would be crazy at all.
Saturday I worked and then went over to see Liam's mum and her new hubby for dinner. This also included UFC, which I normally dread, but I think it's growing on me. I never thought that would happen, but his whole family is into it and I'm starting to at least sort of understand the attraction. It is kind of exciting some of the time.
What I didn't expect was that after we got home, my house was turned into a party house again. And I mean, a major party house.. ^^;;; Thankfully they were quiet enough that I managed to sleep through most of it. But Liam and his friends ended up getting totally sloshed on Gold Schlager. Which tastes nasty, by the way. >>; I had a few sips. It was gross.
But ya, it resulted in lots of hangovers and the next morning, while I was in bed, our roomie puking in Liam's car. >>;; I am very glad I slept through it, although a part of me couldn't help but think it served them right. *cough* Dumbasses.
Sunday the boys spent recovering from hangovers and I spent a great deal of sending out commission information to people on DA. I'm commissioning around 22 pictures at the moment, most are for Digilife RPG, a few are for my Felisian Chronicles RPG. It's been really fun so far actually! I've gotten two already and I am super thrilled with it!
For those wondering how I did it, since I'm broke, let me just say that DA's point system is awesome that way. :] All of the commissions are being paid in deviant points instead of actual money. ;)
As for yesterday, Liam and I went for a visit with my mum and my Nana. It was enjoyable, as always, although there was much discussion of the shooting...
And I just realized I didn't talk about the shooting... there was a shooting right outside of our house, in our complex, on Friday night. That was also a cause of the busy-ness the last few days. Lots of family members and friends have been calling and stopping by because of it. There was a fight between a couple who lives like a stone's throw away from our house and the husband got shot by a cop.
Details are still only partially being released as of now, but the guy was in his 20's and was a husband and father. He was unarmed. An investigation is under way right now, but what we've heard is that the guy startled the cop and the idiot pulled his gun and shot him. And killed him. Why and how this happened, we still don't know, but ya... Excitement.
I'm going to stop now, before this gets too long, but that's my story about this weekend. =P
