Long but good day...
Last night I didn't sleep very well. I thought I'd get to bed early (9pm) yeah early and get a good night's rest before my first day at McMaster. Yeah right! By 1am I was wide awake thinking of things I had to do. So I took off my half chipped nailpolish and put some laundry away, and went back to bed. Still not tired. I began to look though my ReSale Homes mag and find a place. I actually found a really cool condo just steps away from Mac with 3 bedrooms and in my price range. I don't know if I could get a mortgage though with having my student loans. It would be perfect though.
Then it was back to bed. I was restless until approx. 4am then I guess I fell asleep cuz the next thing I knew it was 5:30 and I needed to get up. I hit the snooze 3 times then finally got up. Its a good thing because when I actually left and was crossing the overpass I realized that the 403 was a friggin parking lot. So I turned around and drove through the city.
I got there just in time for my shift and was greeted by Janice. I really like her. I always got along with her in Internship. Actually I love everyone in my department.
Then morning began with me watching Janice and Jody embed then I guess I looked confident cuz they had me embedding autopsy before coffee! I met with the pathologists and then the early morning crew went to coffee. I ran into some core-labbers and they were pleased to see me, and that I had got the job.
After coffee I went to get my badge and parking pass. I'm not in the South garage but atleast I got parking. I'll have to walk or take the shuttle bus in everyday - meh I got parking and cheap too! Oh did I tell you though my badge is horrible. A piece of my hair didn't wanna stay put and now I'm stuck with that for well quite a while.
I returned back to the lab and continued embedding autopsy and then went to watch Janice cut. Just before lunch they had me trimming! After lunch time I was trimming and cutting all on my own and next thing I knew it was time to clean up and go home. I was feeling like I was going slow all day which is understandable I haven't done this stuff since internship but they were quite pleased they didn't even think I'd be through with embedding but I far surpassed their expectations and there were a few comments about how lucky they were cuz I'm such a fast learner.
This made me feel great. I've always doubted myself though out school and sometimes when I start a new job so the re-assuring comments were really nice. I'm not the type that will let it go to my head though but I guess I'm just so excited that I wanted to share. Just to let you all know I'm not full of myself at all....
I went home ate dinner and took a nap then headed to the gym then walmart to buy some essentials. Ran into Monica had a nice little chat and we might be doing something tommorrow night. I'm excited. I love hangin with mons she's a great gal!
As for the rest of the week. I'll be off at 3 then gonna go straight to the gym so if anyone wants to hang just gimme a ring
Friday is Republik for Olga's birthday my car is full - the ladies know who they are that are coming with! But if you can get there somehow you should all join! It's gonna be fun times...I think Miss Anita is coming too!! Man I miss that girl! I'll finally be able to give her her x-mas present!
