I admire the way you are going to the bible with your question....as I said before, read Hosea...that might help you.
1Corinthians 14:1 "Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy."
I stumbled across that and thought I would share it. Prophecy is said to be the Superior Gift. I thought was cool.

i think prophecy in that context is used as teaching
