I haven't updated in a while. Maybe I should do that.
Things are pretty good. I have a lot of school work to do that I haven't really been working on, so that's been bad. I don't really want to do it though. I have no ambition. haha I suppose I better find some before the semester really gets underway. I don't know. I figure I should be okay. I need to do some homework today though. No excuses. Let's hope I follow through on that one.
Last weekend we had a winter retreat through His House. It was really great. It was nice to get away from Mt. P and be up in the UP and just learn about the Lord and how He wants us to live our lives and to just be with Him. That retreat really got me refocused, and it was and is awesome. I'm finally having quiet times daily and it's been so good. Just taking time to reflect on life and talk to God and listen for Him is great. It makes everything else a whole lot easier. Like school, yeah, I have a lot to do, but I'm not really that worried about it. Why? Because I just have this peace about me right now, that everything's going to be okay. That God has it under control. And that stems from having my quiet times. It's funny, people always say that if you make time for God you'll have time for everything else...yada yada yada. Well, it's true. haha It's true.
I kind of got into one of my funks earlier this week. BUT, yesterday I really just thought about it and I was like, you know what, this issue really isn't that big of a deal. I mean, it kind of is to me, but....in the end, it's really not going to matter that much. And it's probably hard to understand what I mean without knowing what the problem actually is, but I really just don't want to type that out right now. Maybe another day. But, I mean, I wish that this issue wasn't an issue, and that things were a little different, but I just feel like it may always be an issue, and that I just need to deal with it and not let it get to me. Not let Satan use it against me for any purposes. All week I've been saying, I choose joy, I choose joy. In my prayer journal I've been writing, Lord, I choose joy, I choose happiness, I choose peace, I choose love. It's funny how if we say that's what we choose and what we want, that's usually how our attitude will be, save for yesterday when I wasn't so joyful. But I found it again by the end of the day. :-)
I just have to focus on the Lord and what He's doing in my life and what He wants to teach me. That's all. Everything else will fall into place. It's so crazy to have this peace that I have right now. I've never experienced anything like this before. I've never been this reflective about things before. It's kind of weird. But I like it.
