Amsterdam
Heya guys,
Ok. We have arrived.
After a long and ardous trip from melbourne. We have finally made it to amsterdam itself. 22 hours inflight, exhausting. We were looking around the airport for andy''s cousin monique at about 0630 this morn, as she was to meet us. Turns out she ended up arriving about the same time we left on a nice train towards the city itself. We didn't have a contact number or anything for the dear girl, whom may i add had got up at 0430 just to try and meet us. So it felt awkward after a few phone calls back to australia we got her phone number by the time we had already checked into the right youth hostel, thats right we went to the wrong one first on the tram from centraal (yes thats the right spelling unlike the rest of my post) station. Walked around the city for half an hour looking for a decent breakfast at a good price, and consumed it heartliy.
She strolled down to the youth hostel (or simply caught a train and two buses) and we found her there a little latter on in the day.
It's currently 1107 am here, 1910 in down under on dinsdag or tuesday. I'm at the bibliotheek (almost the french word) or library utilising the free internet.
Our rooms down at the youth hostel will be ready by 1400 all of our luggage are in lockers down in the basement there for the time being so we can stroll around. It was a nice enough morning for a while but we've had a few light showers so i whipped out the ol' jackaroo hat and strolled around looking like one hip dude.
Tommorow we will go back down to centraal and catch an international train down to berlin to meet up with jakov. a champion of a german guy who is showing us round and letting us stay a while. Also he will be taking us down to the oktoberfest. As we will also be flying out of amsterdam that means where comming back to fully utilise our stay as such. But for now we want as much time in berlin as we can muster.
The first photo has been taken with Guy Smiley. Who is showing me around the city itself. I'll post them when i get a chance.
