So we made it..but where
ok, we left the hostel in rome at maybe 10am.
there was a train at 1056, but then we had to pay money as it was a highspeed train. but come on, we're backpackers. we are cheap/
so another at 1108 to florence. free. so sweet we caught that, got down a few statins, reached into my back pocket to get out my hanky of all things when i thought, gosh i wish i had a clean one, and my freinds and family should know in that case that it must have been bad...lol
when all of a sudden.,..
i relised....
i had left the clean hanky with the rest of my washing down at the laundry in rome... not good. so we jumped off at the next stop and went back to pick up half of my clothes.... i had even that morning wrtitien myself a note that said, don't forget to pick up your washing. read that had a shower and just left with no worries in all the world.
so its maybe 1pm now. a train straight to pisa. great idea along the coast..sounds nice leaves in 4 minutes platform 28.. got to platform 24 its says to get to platform 28 all you have to do is walk down to the end of this platform and 25-28 contiues on..
4 minutes of running later we are maybe half way down that platform. so we gave up.
another train to florence that this time was free. retardo (no i can't spell it but that means its late) revised latness another 30 minutes and not long after another train straight to pisa also free, we thought we'd again kill to birds with one stone so went down to wait for pisa. platform 28 again. caught this train but only just because of the damn lenghtly platforms.4 hours later we were in the middle of now where s. vincients or somwhere along the coast between rome and pisa because the tracks were flodded due to the great amount of rain we had had recently. not sure if there are any buses comming, not sure if there is another train comming, not sure if i really know what im talking about in italian.
the train we caught to get here decieds its going back to rome. but maybe the tracks will clear up. decide to wait here in this town. anothe train will go one stop further to some other statin, got on that one. got off. got back on it a while later the tracks are clearing a bit. not sure if it still really goes to pisa though.///
10pm. got to pisa. its raining. so we get a kebab and feel better. the guys inthe store there know where the tower is so we take a casual stroll. get a few snaps. walk around. get the feel of the place. wave to the police and decide to go to florence.
back to the train station. catch a train without a problem with in a few minutes and arrive at the youth hostel at maybe 2am after some nice lcoales helped us to catch the very last bus. coud'nt belive how late these thigns ran.
nice place on a old masion on top of this hill overlooking the city. ran of course into another australian and some jagermiester and wine and settle in for the night.
