Landscaper Rage
What is the matter with people these days???
I got out this morning to my car in the parking lot, and of course it's September 2, so I had to scrape the windows!
Then I turned to see the landscaper dudes had parked their trucks with trailers longways behind me and the dozen cars I park next to. They looked at me scraping my windows while they got their ride on mowers and weed whackers out of the back, then they disappeared to do their work ... I go in, tried to back up ... I couldn't even clear my front end around the cars next to me. Okay, so I have a small-ish four door, and the spaces are designed for a Smart car or Miata (tell me how they managed that in a complex designed and built in the '60s when the smallest car would have been a Thunderbird or Stingray???) Anyway, I had to pull back into the spot, park and run back into my apartment to call my office and tell them I'd be late and explain the sitch. So then I called the taxi company, and of course it was busy. I got a coworkers cell, knowing she wouldn't be at work yet, and called her to swing by, she agreed and that was great...
Just as I got off the phone with her, one of the ride ons was doing the grass outside ours, so I ran out on the balcony and got his attention and asked him to move his truck. He agreed, and I went to call coworker, but of course her voicemail answered and I couldn't tell her voicemail to forget it, so I just gave her the exact direction like that was my whole idea all along.
I wanted 20 min, enough time for her to get from hers to about mine and went back out, waited maybe 10 minutes, and the landscapers came along, chucked their stuff in their trucks and left!!! GAAAAHHH!!
So I called coworker back again, she was glad to hear from me. She was about to call me to tell me she was stuck on the highway still at least 15-20 min away, so I said thanks for the shot but I'd meet her there.
Anybody care to guess at the rest of the week?????
