Something that didn't occur to me last year with more food trucks, but worked out really well for us this week -
The fact that there's an event happening every week brings people out to picnic and play and enjoy the outdoors and hang out with our neigbhors who felt like coming that evening too. It doesn't much matter whether we're excied about the 2 foodtrucks that are there or not. This week we got takeout from Yoshi's for the kids, and from Mint Indian Eatery for the grownups - still perfectly conducive to picnics in the park, and much more fun to picnic when other folks we know turn up there. Frozen Hoagies storefront, Noor Mediterranean, and (kind of - not very takeout oriente d) tu Y yo round up the neighborhood options -- even without trekking 5min down to road to Ball Square for your picnic foods (Taco Party, Eat at Jumbos, House of Kebab). So it's not just '2 food trucks you might not be in the mood for' but a nice chance to get together in the park for dinner.
(I liked the stuffed sopapillas last year, but not enough to be in the mood for them every week; Bon Me is tasty but available to me at other times/places and my husband works right next door to one of their storefronts, and neither really appeal to my kids (at least for dinner - they love the dessert sopapillas.)
