Hey, Everyone! A couple of nights ago, I walked past Mint Indian Eatery on Broadway near Powderhouse, and I noticed that they were open!
I decided to try the place tonight and, over all, I really enjoyed the experience! Sadly, several items I wanted to try weren't available yet, but I'm told the full menu should be available soon.
I ended up trying the mango lassi, the veg pakoras and the samosa chaat. Here's my takeaway:
- The mango lassi - Just your standard sweet yogurt and mango drink -- no frills of "different" signature ingredients. It's good. :) I hope they offer more lassi varieties in the future.
- The veg pakoras - They're a little on the bland side. I know the restaurant can't make them too spicy as they have to appeal to a wide audience, but I think they'd benefit from a little more salt in the batter. (I mentioned this to the owner since he requested feedback.) Also, this place is called "Mint"! Where's the green chutney?
- The samosa chaat -- This was excellent. I definitely recommend it. You won't find this on most Indian restaurant menus in Greater Boston. Also, bonus: THERE'S the green chutney. :)
