I got in a car accident on Tuesday night! I know - When I initiate drama, I go all out. Expect nothing less. Here are the answers to all the questions you want to ask right now.
1. I'm not hurt. Just a scrape on my knee and cheek, and it threw my back out so I had to go to the chiropractor. My lower back and neck are pretty sore, but ibuprofen is helping.
2. My car IS hurt. Bad. Undriveable. The body shop said it would take a week and a half to repair. And at first, they said they didn't have a loaner till this weekend, but it worked out okay because my boss actually called and got the maintenance guys to loan me one of the driver's ed cars for free. You know you're part of a community that cares when something like that happens to you. When I asked what the guidelines were for borrowing the driver's ed car, he just waved his hands in the air and said, "Just... be careful!"
3. The other guy wasn't hurt at all. His truck was kind of damaged.
4. I was stopping at an intersection that I'd never been at before with a blinking red light and stop sign. As I tried to figure out which way to turn and decided to go straight, a huge truck basically t-boned me, but more in the rear part of the car so I did a 180. Turns out he had a blinking yellow, so even though I stopped and even though I didn't see him, I was still essentially at fault and got a citation for it. SUCKKKKKK.
Too tired to write more than that. I am thankful it wasn't worse. It will be interesting to see what the appraiser says about it tomorrow. Interesting and frightening.
