Congratulations!
You have been chosen to represent CDW for our hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf.
As you know, CDW set aside the funds from the cancelled 2005 Holiday Party for hurricane relief in the Gulf Coast. To date, CDW has utilized some of the funds to help small business recover through the Small Business Reboot program; in April and May 2006 we sent 80 coworkers to New Orleans to help with debris removal and demolition of homes that were destroyed by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. As John Edwardson mentioned previously in e-mails and at the State of the Company meetings, we have been working out the details to send more of you to the Gulf.
I am happy to announce that CDW is partnering with the East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Slidell, Louisiana to help rebuild homes for hurricane victims. East St. Tammany has embarked on an impressive mission to build 100 homes this year, with another 100 homes to be built every year for the next five years. The name of this project is called "Operation Home Delivery".
You entered your name into a "lottery" earlier this year when you mentioned you wanted to help those affected by these hurricanes. You have been selected to travel to Slidell, Louisiana to participate in Operation Home Delivery.
East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity is building on average of 2.5 new Habitat homes each week in order to meet their goal of 100 homes built by the end of the year. There are approximately 38 homes in various stages of construction at any given time. For every 12 houses being built, there is a team consisting of a construction supervisor, assistant construction supervisor, and Americorps volunteers. Each house has a team of five volunteers (minimum) working together.
