Day 3. 20:51
I managed to wake up in time for my train to Bern today, I even managed to get the one half an hour before the one I wanted. I found that shouting four-letter-words can work wonders at 3am.
The journey was amazing, going along lake Geneva and past some huge mountains and I was in Bern around midday. It's hard to believe it's the capital of Switzerland as it seems so small but it's a nice city nonetheless. The bears in the bear pitt were quite depressing, even if they are a tradition on the city. I walked all around Bern today and I think I did the most walking so far today, my legs certainly think so, luckily there is a 3 hour train journey tomorrow to rest before I arrive in Zürich.
The weather has been good so far. Cloudless skies and high temperatures are making for hard walking but it's not all bad as I saw some great views of Bern from the hills surrounding it. I've got to brush up on my German as I think that Zürich will be less bi-lingual than Bern, although it's only for 2 days and the German speakers in Switzerland are suppossedly better at speaking English than the French speakers.
