Day 21. 14:58.
Guten Tag!
My last day in Brussels was cool, I saw some landmarks although it rained most of the day and some things weren´t open. I shared a room with 5 Hungarians, 1 guy, 4 girls who were in Brussels for some sort of music competition. They spoke some English but it was difficult to communicate with them. They played me some songs and had really old-school instruments, a lute, a beautiful violin made from a tree and animal bones and some other strange string instruments. It was quite an experience although they did seem like the Scooby Gang on heat as they walked in and out of rooms and did pretty much everything together.
I got into Cologne on time and found my hostel with easy despite going across the bridge only to remember that I didn´t book a room at the hostel across the bridge. But I meet a german showing off his football skills and taunting me so I tackled him (while wearing two heavy bags) and showed him how we play football on our island. One nil to the English!
The hostel is pretty big and it´s quite a walk from the entrance to my room, the toilets smell and have a strange ledge in an even stranger place but the room is big and is an Ikea lovers paradise. There are 2 chairs which are the same as the ones in my lounge in Southend and the wardrobe is the same as the one at Dad´s house, so it´s like being back in England. Nearly.
I´ve booked a seat on an early train to Munich on the 7th. It´s a longer trip then I had expected and it´s at about 7:50 in the morning but I´ve not got time to dither around at half-way points anymore. I need all my extra time to learn some German as I know none at all, and all the words I´ve seen look like someone´s fallen on a keyboard and liked what they´ve got.
Auf wiedersehen!
