Day 11. 19:22

The overnight train ride was, uh, interesting. The room for 4 of us was really tiny and cramped but there were only 3 of us so it was ok, the other 2 guys didn't speak good English so it was a pretty boring trip and I didn´t get a good night´s sleep as it´s hard to sleep when your bed is shaking. I'm sad to leave Italy and Milano. I get a good mix of sadness and excitment everytime I leave somewhere but there was a little more sadness when I had to get on the train last night. But I brought an AC Milan shirt which will keep me cool and I had a last beer in the coolest bar in Europe which will be the first place I go when I come back to Milano.

Barcelona is a beautiful city with lots of strange artwork in the most random of places. I walked through a park in the morning and found the most stunning monument/fountain. The heat was getting to me by about 1ish so I went back to the hostel for a bit. It's not brilliant and the beds aren't comfy and there is not much privacy in the showers but it's only 2 nights! There are hanging sky train-things which I can't think of the name, but I decided to walk to one and get a view over the city. I wish I had a better map as the walk was really difficult, up steep rocky terrain under the hot sun, going wrong ways and finding dead animals but it was totally worth it when I reached the top and I had the most perfect view of the city. I'm getting used to having breath-taking moments several times a day but this was spectacular. I can't think of many words so you'll all have to see the pictures yourself when I get back, or come out for yourself!

The sky-train wasn´t as bad as I thought and didn't shake. There were more great views and plenty of pictures before it got to the beach, which was crowded with people who I imagine would spend most of their day there. It's a shame that I probably saw more English people on that beach then I'll see in my whole time here.

The Barca metro system is a dream, comfy seats and air condidtioning that would make me want to stay down there if there wasn´t so much to see outside.

I would trade my shoulders with anyone who is willing to put up with rope burns and mosquito bites, new ankles would be fantastic as well.

It's a long trip to Madrid and it will be on Monday morning, I´ll have all day Tuesday to explore and depending on how long it will take to get to the airport, I should have some time on Wednesday before my flight to Paris. I've booked a hostel in Madrid. I'm feeling so tired some days and missing England, I'd love to pop home briefly while in Paris but I think I'd end up sleeping for a week and wasting time. I can't believe I'm nearly half-way through my time here and if someone said I had to go home I wouldn't be too sad as I've seen so much, probably more than most people have in a lifetime and I'm incredibly happy for the chance to do what I'm doing.

Any I gotta go, my stomach's rumbling. (I got my appiteite back!)

Adios!
