I was scheduled to donate blood this morning. For the first time ever I passed the hemoglobin test 2 visits in a row. I figured I was clean and green. Everything was going just great until they tried to actually draw blood. Besides being extremely painful, my arm refused to bleed. So, after getting poked and stuck it ended up being all for naught.
I have a handicapped tag for my car, which I am using more often these days. I have developed great sympathy for the Hans Christian Anderson Little Mermaid. Apparently, because I have a permanent handicapped tag, I am allowed to be assigned a parking space in my building at work rather than walking a couple blocks from the parking garage. I can walk but it is getting more and more painful to do so. I am torn about requesting in building parking, as there is a long line of people waiting for spaces in the building. Parking is at a premium. I don’t think I am better than anyone else in line. However, it is becoming more and more difficult to make the hike back and forth to the parking garage. Today I began the process to request an in building parking space but I feel kind of awful about it. Did I mention that I HATE that handicapped parking tag?
