Yar. I'm back. Be afraid.
Or don't be. Either way.
Anyway, I figured one or two of you might like to know what has happened since I left. I figured I'd tell ya.
July 15: Moving day.
I packed up my computer last, so I was actually on that morning. However, in the afternoon I wasn't. The day was hectic. Surprisingly enough, I was the driving force behind the whole thing. Little timid Jas. Lazy Jas. I was the motivator. Haha, I find that funny.
Several things went wrong. Here was how it was SUPPOSED to go:
6:00pm: Packed up and ready to go
7:00pm: Sherri and Pete arrive with the U-Haul, and begin loading
8:00pm: Get to the apartment and start moving in. Drew meets us there and helps us move in.
9:00pm: all moved in (It's a public ordinance that moving into an apartment in Metairie after 9:00pm constitutes a disturbing the peace violation and we'd be fined accordingly.)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! If several things went the way they were supposed to, then all would have been alright. But NUUUUUUUU!
Alright. This is how it went:
5:00pm: Take a break from packing, and play Soul Calibur II with Ray and Shanel. Big Ray is there and he tells me there was a problem with the move-in. He doesn't have details so I call Drew. Turns out that we needed to do a walkthrough before we could get the key. And Drew couldn't do the walkthrough himself, oh no, I had to be with him >_<. Meh... So then I call up my sister and tell her the change of plans. Instead, she and Pete would pick me up at Clearview Mall and take me to Gentilly to start packing.
Alright. Phone correspondence complete, Big Ray gives me a lift to Metairie to pick up Drew, who would take a lunch break (I told the fucker to just take the day off but NUUUUUUUU). While at Sav-A-Center, Drew buys a money order to cover the first month's rent. Unfortunately, he seems to have forgotten that he wrote them a check which bounced, so he owes them an extra 25 dollars or something like that. I'm oblivious to the whole thing, apparently something like that isn't important to those whose life it could screw up. *Rolls eyes* So, since the office closed at 6, we were on a tight schedule. We get there and do the walk-through, and when Drew hands them the rent, he realizes that he has to pay the 25 bucks so he has approximately 10 minutes to buy a money order with and get back to pay it. Big ray gives us a lift to the Rite-Aid that Mrs. Paula (One of the Camelot Apts. ladies) recommended we go to to buy the money order. So we go there....
And GUESS WHAT?!?!?! Right when we got there, the Customer Service girl got OFF DUTY to eat lunch. She'd just sat out front with a dinner she'd bought from the Wendy's next door. Luckily, we had a secret weapon with us: Big Ray. This is the man that taught Drew everything he knows about women, flirting, and getting what you want (Whether it be sex or a money order). I witnessed how he handled that woman and I am still amazed O.O I couldn't have pulled it off and probably wouldn't if I wanted to but still. Dizzamn. No wonder Drew looked up to him so much. We walked out five minutes later with a money order and like 1 minute to get back to Camelot. Big Ray floored it and we got there in time to give her the money order. We got our keys. Now, I just had to wait for Sherri at Clearview Mall. It's like a ten-minute walk from my house.
I wait in the food court. It takes them a while. At like 7:10 they arrive. Now we have to make a trip to Gentilly. The truck doesn't go very fast, unfortunately, but Pete drives it as fast as he can. Luckily, he's been to our destination a couple times so he knows the way. We arrive and I give them a walk-through: Tell him what goes and the like. Most of our stuff is downstairs, but since my packing time has been cut down a bit, I still have a bit more to do upstairs. I go and I do it, while Sherri and Pete begin to pack up the truck.
Now, it's 7:30 at night, and yet it still has to be 95 degrees with a heat-index of 100+. Pete and I (Who are doing most of the labor) are sweating like pigs. We get out of there at like 8:00. Now, we are supposed to be in Metairie at 8:00, so we're very behind schedule. On top of that, when we get to the apartment, Drew is still working his little butt off. Whoopee! So, Sherri, Pete, and I have to haul everything up two flights of stairs by our damned selves. The unloading goes mercifully slower than the loading but it's still taking forever. I hurt my back carrying something upstairs so from then on I had to have help carrying things. I collapsed at 9:00. We took about a 10-minute break and then finished the last leg of the move-in. So, we broke the time limit but not by much. 9:20 I was laying on the floor of my new living room, surrounded by everything Drew and I owned. Great feeling, but I was pissed at Drew. When he finally got there, he carried the computers upstairs along with his family. I would have helped, but I was so tired my words were sounding funny and my brain wouldn't work. So, they just kinda let me lay there. I managed to stand finally towards the end of their vigil.
And later, I realized something: I was the pin that held everything together. I set up the truck, I did all the phone correspondence. I am the one that pushed everyone to do their parts. I tell you what, that was a damned good feeling.
Hmm.... that being said, I'm just going to touch through the next month, going over only the important stuff. I recently got moved to the morning shift at work. I have to get up at 4:30 in the morning in order to get there on time, and I usually still don't because it's fucking four-thirty in the morning and I am DEFINITELY not a morning person.
I do, however, get off early in the afternoon, so I have the rest of the day to do what I want. That's quite nice.
Drew's girlfriend moved in not too long ago, also. She's already got a job at K-mart. Makin' me look bad >_<. Anyway, She's pretty cool ^^; We talk a lot.
Hmmmm... there's a pretty girl working the salad bar at work now. I don't think I'm gonna touch that, though.
Not too much more, I guess.
OH!
I saw "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle". It's made by the same guy that made "Dude, Where's My Car?" It blew that movie out of the fucking water. ^^;; Everyone who reads this, GO SEE THAT FUCKING MOVIE! :D I won't spoil it for you guys but GO SEE THAT FUCKING MOVIE!!
Erm... yeah, that's about it I think. Lalala.... probably make another entry soon.
