My dad has now left for Hong Kong and the remainder of the family are on their way to Bavaria, so that leaves me at home alone for a week. My mother was vastly paranoid about me coping by myself and has left me about a month's supply of food along with last-minute instructions on how to catch a bus ( Read more... )

Ah, you'll get used to being alone. It's when you run out of ready meals you have to worry. If you feel lonely, what you should do is sign onto messenger or something.

Cleaning family kitchens always results in surprises!

However, the last little bit of your entry intrigued me even more...do you have a good recipe for sticky toffee pudding? I've tried to make a few, but they don't turn out quite right. If you could tell me yours, I'd be indebted for life!

I have a fantastic recipe for it, it's the only useful thing to have come out of Home Economics in school. You can't get some of the ingredients in America, but there are suitable replacements - I'll see if I can get Whitney to send me the Americanised version and I'll pass it on to you.

I'm in agreement with you there - raisins are the most horrendous thing ever and I'll never use them in anything I cook.
