Trying to Cope with a Horrible Idea

I'm still trying to cope with and process something I discovered Saturday:

The phoney "Clark Rockefeller" murdered a friend of mine.

I knew the "Linda Sohus" of the newspaper stories by her maiden name, Linda Mayfield. (She had come into science fiction fandom under her first marriage name, Linda Terashita, if I recall the spelling correctly,

Oh . . . my . . . GODS! I remember them!

I sometimes wish my worlds -weren't- so interconnected.

Or that some of my acquaintances had such, um, er, eventful lives. I knew someone who was raped by the Belmont Shore Rapist ten years ago. I've known folks who were far too close to the Towers on 9/11 and it took days to catch up with them.

Thanks (I guess) for the heads up. I'd always wondered what really happened.

I'm so sorry... how utterly horrible. And how deeply horrible to see someone making unsubstantiated accusations against her as well.

I'm so sorry this happened, and that you had to learn about it in this manner.

As for the "Clark Rockefeller" dude, about whom I had been only peripherally aware while I was at Pennsic, I *had* been wondering why nobody was reporting his relationship to THE Rockefellers. The revelations about that sociopath are really starting to boggle my mind.
