you & me both. the details are fuzzy on which i played first, tmnt or dnd, but i certainly played MORE of tmnt. my "signature character" getting crazier by the book...spike seta, mutant porcupine (i was like, 11, lay off!). he got into a feud with the mutant wolverine from the sample adventure, & they fought for years! even through time & other dimensions, once transdimensional came out. finally they had an epic showdown with the wolverine in a tank; i ended up inside of it where we fist fought to the death. & then i retired to an alternate reality where the mongols had never stopped & then the national socialists had been mutant animal freedom advocates.

a couple of years ago i had some friends, both gamer & non-gamer, over to play. character creation is STILL an awesome process. amazing. solid, fantastic. actual game play...crap, how did anyone play that!

Game play for us was awesome. But, we always played fast and loose with the rules.

when i was a kid i didn't notice it, & brother, you don't gotta preach to me about fast & loose. loosey goosey! (by the way, "loosey goosey" would be a great character) but just trying it out recently (to run a classic adventure out of one of the supplements) made my head spin.

I think it was a rule that all TMNT campaigns had to have someone playing a porcupine, and someone playing a wolverine. My GM insisted on including his porcupine character in the starring role everyweek.

Totally overshadowed my awesome character, Yappy the Killer Chihuahua From Hell.

Sigh. I loved Palladium stuff.

Prayers for him and his loved ones.
