Starbucks and gas prices
So, with the Dow dropping almost 800 points the other day, gas rising to almost $4 (and even running out in South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina), and the overall economy just sucking, college students at Ole Miss still flock to the Starbucks. In fact, it seems that the line has gotten even longer now that we have been told by the media that we are facing doom. Some of us saw the doom a long time ago and opted for Starbucks anyway, but I wonder what logic these people have? Is it that - um, we are all kinda screwed anyway, so might as well get a pumpkin spice latte?
Last night on CBS news with Katie Couric (who btw I cannot believe opted for a change to CBS from NBC), Sarah Palin said that she had a "best friend who just happens to be gay. I don't really agree with that choice." I am so sorry Palinator - I do not believe that is a choice. Palin probably believes it is a choice to be black, to be female, and to be retarded.
