Shortened Celebration

Sep 14, 2007 09:07

Most years I Celebrate my birthweek, dragging that one-day celebration out over seven. What can I say, I love a good excuse to perpetuate being showered with gifts and special treatment. My kids are familiar with the drill. So are other family members and friends. Familiar and perhaps bone-weary. Spent. Emotionally drained. Frazzled. Dog-tired. Tapped out...

All right, all right, I get it.

This year my birthday falls on the weekend, so I'm going easy on everyone. There. You happy?

I'm announcing that this year it will be a Birthweekend Celebration. (When I discussed this with my daughter, she told me that the other family members are bound to look at this the same way a prisoner in Guantanamo might view their release. My response: Lovely.)

Here we go-
Official Start:  Today at noon
Official End: Sunday at noon.
Cake: All day Saturday

Let the celebration begin...
