I have a 'litmus' test for myself to determine bias. I can't always see it, but I use the idea that if I replace 'A' with 'B' do I still get 'C'. e.g. If a proposal comes from the Bush administration, would I support it if it came from a Clinton (or Obama soon! :) administration.
There was a diary posted on Saturday that asked what if certain things about the campaign had been reversed and how that would have effected the race. Your's asks similar questions and there are probably 100's more. The reasonings are varied, but a lot of the media's actions are due to ratings and wanting this to be close (i.e. = more interesting for them) The 'liberal' media probably saw McCain as the underdog and wanted to play Devil's Advocate to keep it interesting. Makes them look foolish.
