I didn't fall off the face of the Earth...
... but the last 10 months have been a test of my patience, will, and sanity. Shortly after I posted on my birthday, my working hours got slashed, then finally around Memorial Day I got laid off. Spent the entire summer and most of the fall jobless. Also, my unemployment claim was denied 3 times because of my leaving a job to move. In August I had to move back down to Durango because I ran out of money and was pretty miserable. So I moved back in with the folks. Thankfully they've been pretty helpful, but my dad is still irritating in the same ways. Some things never change. I put in applications and resumes like crazy, but never heard back from anyone. Finally, last Friday, I was able to get a job working on cars again, thanks to a former co-worker who works in the shop. The total process from first contact to being hired for this job was 4 hours, and to think it was on the 13th. I'm considering myself very lucky right now, as this job had 200+ people apply for it. I'm also very relieved, a source of income to pay for my car and to move out of my parents place with is finally happening again. The job is at a Firestone service center, I have 5 co-workers in total, and they're all very cool. Plus the benefits are great, paid vacation, holidays, weekly paycheks, and 75% employer paid insurances. *looks at clock* Crap, I have to get going back to work now, lunch is over. Later everyone
