Time's still flying
Been another month, and I've neglected this journal once again. The month has gone by pretty fast, work has been the same routine lately - lots of hours, enough pay to squeak by with the bills, food and some fun. It's hard to believe that I've been in Durango for a year now, the time has just flown by... guess it's true, what my parents told me when I was a kid... "the older you get, the faster it goes, so enjoy it while you can" On the subject of enjoyment, I'm gonna go to Denver this weekend, celebrate wolf_n's birthday, maybe hit up the furry halloween party, and just take it easy. Been pulling 6 day weeks at work lately, to help cover, but I'm in need of a break, so I'm going. Fun will be had.

Looking back over the last year, I've got mixed feelings about all that has went down. Spending lots of money to get here, and find out the job I moved out here for wasn't going to be given to me. 6 week "vacation", which cleared my bank account. Finally landed a job in late November of last year. Got my own place finally, after living with my parents, in late June this year, and a better car at the end of September. Work, despite it's problems, has been steady and reliable, although a bit frustrating at times. It's a job, it pays the bills, and occupies me 5 days a week. I've met several friends through work, which has been nice. Despite the bad beginning to my life living in Colorado, things have panned out fairly well, although not as well as I was hoping for, but I'm working on it. Just gotta keep going, going towards my goals. Even if it's slow progress, it's still progress.
As for the future, I'm hoping to be able to get into a couple night classes soon, working towards a degree in finance of some sort. I might be in line for a promotion soon, things have been taking a turn at work, a serious turn, and I hope it's a good one. I've gotta improve on a few things, but they are minor. Vacation time will be earned in a little over a month, then it's the holidays, good times. Then my birthday, which I hope to go back to Michigan for, visit some friends who I haven't seen in over a year. Month and a half after my birthday is FSW, which I'm definitely going to attend again. It's way too good of a time to pass up, for sure. I'm just going to keep at it, and my hard work will earn me these opportunities. I've just got to realize that, instead of being moody and angry all the time, while at work. It's time for that to change, the mental bitch-slap I gave myself seems to be working... so far :P
