It's about time...
Well, I'm finally getting settled down on my own again, and it sure is a nice feeling. Being able to cook dinner while wearing nothing but a pair of boxers sure is relaxing... ;) Anyway, I promised an update on what's been going on, since my last post before this morning's was over 6 weeks old... We'll start with Memorial Day weekend, and go right on up to yesterday, but not in detail enough to where it's boring :P
Memorial Day Weekend:
My friend Ross came down to visit, we spent most of the time outside, either driving up into the mountains, sitting on the roof of my parents place and watching downtown or walking around. It was a very enjoyable long weekend, indeed. Took my camera on the drive into the mountains, but didn't get many pictures, the best of which can be found here. Unfortunately, I don't remember much of the details from that weekend, just that it was pretty relaxing :)
June:
Most of June was spent working, trying to find a place... and internet-free. I really didn't do much besides work, eat, sleep and the occasional bike ride. Was in a somewhat significant funk, mostly due to the frustrations of having a hard time finding a place to live, and some leftover stress from work. Although, once the first half of the month was over, things started to go better. A pad of my own pretty much fell into my hands - a former co-worker of my mom's moved out east, and was asking 600 a month to rent his condo, which I jumped on, because it included utilities and basic furniture. Didn't get to move in until the 28th though, because of the slow pace at which property management companies work >.< That also happened to be the day that my little brother and his girlfriend got here, so, I had to hurry to move my things from one place to the other, so my brother could have a place to stay.
The 29th was my mom's 50th birthday, so the whole family was there, including my aunt and uncle from AZ, who completely surprised everyone when they showed up. I got to spend a good bit of quality time with the family, which is always a good thing. Most of the time was spent with my brother and his g/f, who I rarely get to see anymore, since they live on the opposite side of the country :( Lots of fun was had during his stay here, so it's all good. Hopefully I'll be able to see him sometime soon again.
Recent things:
Had a friend from out east come visit, while on business in Denver, which was pretty enjoyable. He was here this past Sunday and Monday, and we were driving through the mountains for 12 hours combined both days. The San Juan Skyway was the drive we did on Sunday, and on Monday we went up to Wolf Creek. The pictures speak for themselves... well, except for all that haze caused by the huge fire in central Utah >.< It was very relaxing, and enjoyable, despite doing 100% of the driving. Other than driving and enjoying the scenery around here, not much else was done.
Finally getting settled down in the apartment, things are coming together slowly... pictures will be posted soon. But I'm getting tired, and really can't think of much else to update about, so I'll leave it at that.
