This week just seemed to fly by, now it's Friday evening and it feels like Wednesday... gotta like that ;) Tomorrow is my dad's birthday, but unfortunately, I have to work. That's alright though, because my present to him is a lift pass at Wolf Creek on Sunday. I can't wait to hit the slopes again, need to get in better practice for the
Furry Ski Weekend that's coming up the last weekend of the month. Can't wait for it :D
Starting this past Wednesday and ending tomorrow is Durango's Snowdown festival. The parade was tonight, started right after I got home from work, until about 20 minutes ago. I swear, it went on and on and on... with lots of cool floats, costumes and such. The theme of this year's festival is Pirates. So, everyone's dressing up as pirates and wenches, along with a few parrots, and partying like you were a drunk sailor :P That's what my parents are doing right as I type this. I have to work, they'll be stumbling in after I go to sleep, so, they'll probably be loud and wake me up :P
Work might have me off the Monday after my rotational Saturday, so I get paid less overtime. My supervisor said that he's getting pestered from upper management that he's creating too much overtime pay. Which sucks, but, there's nothing that can be done about it, so I just have to deal with it. But, having third Mondays off will be nice, for doing stuff like banking, etc. That, and I might pick up a job that is Mondays only, 1-2 times a month. That'll definitely help out, that's for sure. Just waiting to find out if the new policy will go into effect now.
Today was going good, until one of my co-workers, and a good friend, had to find out that his uncle was killed in Iraq when his helicopter was shot out of the sky, so he tells me. It sucks to have to see a friend go through something like that, it was totally undeserved for his entire family. I think everyone knows my viewpoint on this war in Iraq, but if you don't, here it is. All I see this war about is the stupid conflict over controlling oil. Protecting only a few of the richest Americans there are, while everyone else has to pray that their friends or loved ones make it through another day of roadside bombs, suicide bombers, and projectiles. Fuck that. This has to end soon, and, some of you might dislike this, but Bush needs to get the boot, and get tried for war crimes. Some of you might defend Bush, and say what he's done outside the war has been good, but this war is an awful wine stain on his shirt. It takes a lot of effort to clean up the mess, but his effort isn't in the right places. And don't you say that more people are killed inside our own borders than in any war, just think about this one: One man is responsible for every unnecessary, untimely death in the Middle East. His resilience is causing them, even a few of his party members disagree with his actions. That's enough proof right there.
