Lordy it's been a while
Where am I now? Ummm... I'm sittin' in a damn good pub nursing my second cup of very black coffee and facing my hangover with an exceptionally cheery disposition. After all, the sunrise was brilliant, the pub is quiet finally, and I'm feeling like I'm in my element for the first time since I was in Wolfhounds in Korea.
Last night was filled with a lot of Newcastle, Coopers, and loudly singing the Aussie national anthem while the world finale of Aussie Football (loveingly known as Footsy) went on. The loud Aussie crowd was evenly split between both teams.
Brings back memories of World Cup in Korea, where I followed my crowd of British Ex-pats roaming from pub to pub in Itaewon, having the time of my life. These are the places where you realize that people are meant to connect with each other, not fight random wars for no reason.
Unfortunately I'm not in Australia, I'm in Los Vegas. I'm not even supposed to be here according to the government, instead I'm supposed to be in Barstow CA. But it's my damn life and I don't really give a fuck. Oh and it's my birthday so I'm going to enjoy myself for once since getting back to the US.
We'll not talk about my new unit. Suffice it to say that it's incredibly worse than any other unit I've had the misfortune of serving in. My existence is simply a countdown clock of when I can have my real life back.
There's only one thing this pub is missing: an outlet so I can recharge my laptop. Oh and a girl, but I'll work on that when I get my real life back.
