And it also puts a lot of undue pressure on Obama to 'earn' the prize.
On the flip side, the mere fact of not being Bush does mean that there's probably a lot more peace than there would've been otherwise.
But getting a Nobel Peace Prize just for not being Bush is almost a bit insulting to Obama -- like they've assumed Obama's not going to do anything else worthwhile to really warrant a NPP and we better get the prize in now before he stuffs up.
Looking at their wording -- particularly the reference to Obama's 'strengthening democracy' around the world, which I recall was the excuse for all of Bush's warmongering -- I can't help but think the NPP people just really wanted to give the finger to the Bush Administration. Not super mature, but still kind of awesome.
