When he heard the phone ringing later that evening, House just hit mute on the TV and reached down on the coffeetable, picking up the phone, checking the caller ID, and when he saw the word 'restricted' with a Boston area code, he figured it was Eric or Arica.

"This is House, what's up?"

He had to remember to stop sounding so professional on the home phone.

"Uncle Greg!" Liya said happily.

"We need help!" David added. "NOW."

Pausing, he sat up a little straighter, checking his watch and then nodding to himself. "David, Liya, hi guys."

He paused for a second. "What kind of help, David?"

"Something's wrong."

"You need to fix it!"

[doctorhouse_tm]

"Alright, well, I need to know what's wrong so I can fix it. Where's your mom, can she tell me what's up?"

He ran a hand through his hair, wondering why they were calling.

"That's the problem!"

"You made Ashley come out! Now mommy's with her ALL the time!"

"She cries too much so something must be wrong!"

House tried not to laugh.

"Guys, Ashley came out by herself, I just helped. Your mom needs to take care of her because she's so little and can't take care of herself like you guys can. And babies like Ashley cry all the time because they don't know how to talk."

[david_and_liya]

"She needs to learn!"

"NOW."

"We can talk."

[doctorhouse_tm]

"Babies don't learn to talk for awhile. You guys didn't learn to talk until you were older either. But I promise you, when she gets bigger, things will calm down and she won't cry so much."

A pause. "Because you guys are older than her, right?"

"Yeah."

"But how long is it gonna be?"

"And mommy won't let us help!"

"So we found your number and called you."
