I've posted before about listening to classic rock on my way up to the County. The last two trips, however, I've been listening to...wait for it...CLASSIC COUNTRY! There's a classic country station in the County now. I think it's in Monticello, but it's hard to tell. Anyway, I listened to it for WAAAAY too long and fried my brain a little bit. They played at least two songs by Alabama. Alabama was really popular when I was in highschool, but to me, they were exactly the kind of country I didn't like. Anyway, listening to them today I was horrified by all the effects on the instruments and vocals. I recognized phase, compression, volume pedal, and I think maybe some wah. There were also a lot of dueling guitar solos. I came away feeling like the Allman Brothers Band had broken into a Pink Floyd session and stolen the instruments. After this disturbing revelation I switched the radio back to sports talk.

The girls lost back to back games to Hodgdon and Van Buren by a combined score of 14-2. Yet, I still miss it.

Dugie got birthday emails from a bunch of former players the other day. He hasn't figured out that I asked them to write. It's pretty cool. Happy birthday, Mike.

Driving six hours to mow for four hours makes very little sense. But having ten hours all to myself and listening to the radio without small voices from the back demanding that "We will Rock YOu" and "Rambling Man" be played ad infinitum is pretty nice.

See ya.
