Apologies to those attempting to follow Eagle Soccer through my LJ. I've been slacking.
Anyway.
Last Wednesday's game vs. Easton was rescheduled to Tuesday, so we played them two days in a row. The first game was an evening game at Limestone. We scored two goals in the first half, but felt like we should have had more. Despite the lead, many felt we weren't playing well. Things changed in the second half. We moved the ball more, talked, and yes, scored. Easton didn't have any subs, so their fatigue probably played a role in that, but we did play better. Ellie had two goals, Kellie, Lee Anne, and Eva (Kayla's sister) each had one. Ellie always does an awesome job distributing the ball, but late in the second half she was passing up shots to let other people shoot. Her unselfishness made Coach cry. It made me sick, but that's just me. :-P JKJKJKJKJKJKJKJK For some reason the refs were using a (very) old interpretation of the offsides rule, which made it easy for Easton to run an offsides trap. We had different refs on Wed.
So yesterday (wed) we traveled down to Easton for the second game. This time they had three subs. They needed them. The goalie hurt her fingers so Kassie Lovely switched to goal, and she did a pretty darn good job. She's only a junior, so we have to face her one more time. We had it more together this game. Ellie again had two goals, Britany, Logan, Lee Anne, and KALLI COTE!! had the others. The Easton girls got pretty grabby and pushy in the second half. One of their girls (Molly?) smacked one of ours to the ground well after the ball had been played. I think it was Brit. Mr. Tolle gave her a yellow card, but she kept running her mouth about how she had been sprinting, and how we deserved it since we separated her shoulder last year. I would not have put her back in after her 10 minutes were up, but that's just me. I'm proud that our girls remained good sports through the whole thing.
So today we are off for our third game in three days. Watch out, Wisdom, here we come! At least it's a pretty drive.
