I originally had other plans for this week, but they fell through, and I am up at the other house puppy sitting for my younger brother while he is in surgery. Now, I'm not complaining or anything, but I began to think that this was going to be a boring week or so... The very first thing I did when I got up here was run to Borders. While in Borders I picked up two of my favorite movies: The Lion in Winter (which is my favorite feel good Christmas movie, probably because it reminds me of the many Christmases growing up in my family) and The Philadelphia Story. Both of these movies star the venerable Kate Hepburn (God I love her), and also in Borders, I picked up a book: Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of The West (I must be the only gay guy that hasn't read that book). There's something about books that are tactile that audio books and movies don't posses. Unlike reading off the internet, books add to the sensation through the way in which they feel. Unlike an audio book or a movie, a book spurs the imagination to see the story in your mind your own way and to give the characters their own voices and not just the ones chosen by the producers of the audio book or movie... OK, so I just got a bit nostolgic. After an hour of solid reading I am on page 130 of Wicked, and right now I am watching the Lion in Winter while writing this. Wicked is marvelously sexual. I potentially have a playdate on Wednesday or Thursday and will most probably write about it should it happens.
