Brighton based outfit Rokurokubi wears its love for 1970s psychedelic folk on its delicately embroidered paisley sleeve. Each of these ten songs is structured around the adept songwriting of Rose Io, whose lithe soprano voice and charming melodic sensibility invite comparisons with the likes of Vashti Bunyan or Pentangle’s Jacqui McShee.

W.A Mozart - Idomeneo K.366 / Act 1 - "Quando avran fine omai"
Wire said - OFFICIALLY, IT'S an opera seria but "serious" hardly seems an adequate word to describe ldommeo, the action-packed extravaganza in to which Mozart crammed love, hate, jealousy, gu into it, anguish, a shipwreck, a sea monster, an angry mob, human sacrifice, a minor earthquake and - in true Twin Peaks mysterioso fashion - a supernatural Voice which suddenly proclaims a message from heaven. All this, and a happy ending too!
