Here in the USA they were all on the required reading list for High school (9th - 12th year) English Literature class. I would have to look it up to be certain, but I think they were also all written by American authors.
The other 2 questions I'm drawing a complete blank.

The books were read in many traditional high school literature curriculums. Not any more, probably.

The three items are all wheels.

The cities are all American cities named for their founders.

that didn't sound right
Tuscon - i knew the name had to to have an Indian origin
as did the New Mexico one
and Cinncinati is from the society of the Cincinatus

Cincinnatus was a famous Roman General who went back to his farm rather than seek power

The Society of the Cincinnnatus was formed by officers in the American Revolution who went back to their civilian life

you took away the obvious answer, but another is all are frequently on school reading lists, although i suspect you have something more nefarious in mind.
