Clocks Go Back

Oct 25, 2020 08:33

Well, another day that will be a mixture of rain and some sunshine. Yesterday was decidedly murky with high gusty winds. The fact that we had to move the clocks back one hour meant that we are now firmly in the grip of darker afternoons. Why do we bother? It was only brought in to help with the war efforts of the two great wars of the last century and possibly farmers. It is anachronistic and perfunctory to the modern world of this century.

Luckily I have only one item to wind back and that is my watch as all the other items are electronic and reset themselves. Laptops, smartphones, and tablets adjust themselves.

Money is getting tight so I am looking forward to the 2nd of next month when the monthly big cashflow comes in again. So I am hoping for some good eBay or Discogs sales to cover this week and a bit.

Prime has La Doca Vita on their platform at the moment so I might watch this classic Fellini film later today. Personally, I tend to prefer the French new wave of movies by Truffaut and Godard.

Star Trek Discovery is running again in its third season and I believe that Supernatural will be on soon for its final season.

I started reading the David Nichols novel "Us" on Friday", and now I am on the last three to four chapters. This is the first I read of his books.

books, film, time
