Sonoko - Danse Avec La Tristesse

2I wrote this song around 2004 when I was working all night to make new music. The basic inspiration came from the poem ‘Demain, Dès l’Aube’ by Victor Hugo, which I heard for the first time when I was 18. I was an artistic pretentious girl then. My biggest ambition in life at that time was to die in water.
'Danse Avec La Tristesse' expresses my love for the dawn (l’ aube), a very important & magical moment for me - as much as dusk is. It also expresses my feelings of one-sided, unrequited love to music. This love will never be fully accomplished - music has never loved me back as much as I hoped for - but I could never stop loving it."
Sonoko.
