You're assuming that the stomach/digestive tract is above the mouth. It may not be.

Well,
- I like it, in a D+D/freaky/weird monster sort of way.
- it's a creative idea
- it IS quite creepy from the prey's point of view - if you can't run fast enough, you're swallowed, or trampled, or both!

I dunno. Ask my subconscious.

P.S. The critter is brick red in colour, and its skin is formed of large leathery plates.

Sometimes it fascinates me, examining dreams. I see two relevant factors in the imagery:

- the inspiration - what elements of waking reality in the last few days were witnessed by my unconscious mind. In this case, I am fairly sure that this image, which I witnessed earlier in the week was the seed for my dream ( ... )

Perhaps for territory battles only?

It would also be for keeping prey from escaping once they venture under the beast.

It's creepy but also a neat idea. You need to e-mail it to Dinosaur Queen and have her brainstorm about adaptations. Cool!
