whores don't get a second chance

I'm back from an exhausting week in Florida, and very little sleep. Wound up being down there from Tuesday until Sunday. Commentary on three FIP dvd's, 1 ROH dvd, and then the two live FIP shows in Lakeland and Sebring.

Tuesday night, Mark Nulty and I are ready to begin commentary, but more editing is necessary on the FIP footage before we can begin. With a few hours to spare, we head out to get something to eat... and Mark makes a call on his cell. "Wanna join us for a few beers?" Who do we wind up catching up with at a local sports bar, but the one and only Jack Brisco! Talk about an unexpected side trip during an otherwise FIPtacular week. The FIP Fallout 1 & 2 dvd's will be out this week... and the three more we worked on this week will be ready to be released shortly. Though the FIP roster uses a lot of ROH talent and other "indie stars," they are more like what I would consider "Memphis style" promotion. The whole feel of the shows, with the small studio style setup with the FIP set and small crowd, makes them really fun shows on video. It's a cool product for those who aren't all about analyzing each detail of a wrestling show and how many stars each match is "worth." If you just want to kick back and watch some wrestling and enjoy yourself for a couple hours, you'll want to check out the FIP dvd's. That's not to say the wrestling isn't still top notch... Punk and Danielson had a solid 41 minute two out of three falls match on Saturday night which is a must-see.

The early part of this week will be filled with much catching up on sleep and checking out the latest batch of puroresu dvd's I've acquired. IWA-MS double shot this weekend... debut in Herrin, IL and the big return to Salem, IN are on the agenda. We'll also be doing a 2005 commentary track on the 1997 IWA-MS KOTDM tournament this weekend for Smart Mark Video's remaster/re-release of the show on dvd. Midlothian and Highland on the 8th and 9th... with two LOADED shows, then the CHIKARA triple shot the following weekend, and then finally back to FIPland on the 22nd and 23rd. I'm gonna try to update this thing more often during the next month... try being the key word.

And yes, those pictures on Jimmy Jacobs' journal are totally Hiroshi Hase.
