He bit his lip slightly, wondering how to elaborate. "I...almost don't want to believe what it is that she says, but she informs me that, perhaps...someone in our court might actually know where the Land of the Green Isles may be...and that he's known all this time and has put up the facade that he'd never heard of such a place! Can you believe it? I am uncertain as to whether or not I feel incredibly upset and angry or absolutely overjoyed, William."

Oh. Oh dear. That last thought had not expressed itself in a matter of yips and barks, because the speaker voicing that thought was no longer a puppy.

Of course Alexander knew that, eventually, William would change back. At least, he certainly hoped that would be the case. But he'd gotten accoustomed to these little chats with his roommate responding in various yips and barks and growls and to have them replaced with words so suddenly was a bit startling.
Besides, any words coming out when you least expected them still startled Alexander, considering they could be followed by a swift death at the hands of a crazy wizard.
"William! You're back!"
Alexander was being very good, too, of keeping his eyes upwards, just in case William hadn't transformed back with his clothing. He didn't know whether or not he had, because he wasn't about to check.

"That is, er, um..." He cleared his throat a little. "Most excellent news, indeed. I was beginning to worry about the extended period of your untimely transformation, my friend."
