Things were becoming a little clearer around the island, at least in respect to the fact that some strange things were certainly going on, and there was a great deal to be concerned about. "Alexander, we need find some goblins and interrogate them," Maladicta said, storming on into the room after the leader meeting.

With swords. Interrogate them with swords.

"Interrogate them?" Alexander asked, blinking out of his sewing reverie and glancing toward Maladicta at his door. "Do you suppose that would get us very far? They hardly seem...the reasonable types."

"Or read the answers from their felt entrails," she replied with a shrug as she offered her hand for Faramir to hop onto.

Then noticed what Alexander was working on.

"...is that a vest?"

"I don't believe I'm very well versed in that art," Alexander admitted.

And then he looked at the vest.

"Er, yes. It's...um...for, er, Faramir. Possibly. Maybe..."

He cleared his throat.

"It's a good distraction."

Maladicta looked from the owl, to the vest... back to the owl. Vest. Owl.

"It is cold..."

"And I thought, maybe, I could manage a spell so that when he does turn back, he's not completely without clothing..." Alexander shook his head. "It might be a silly thought, but you never know."

"I'm sure he appreciates the thought," she replied. "Now. How are you with a sword?"

"I've improved quite a bit in the last few years," Alexander admitted, setting the vest aside for the moment and standing up. "You really want to take to...interrogating those goblins, don't you?"

There was a bit of a pause there.

"Grab a cap," Alexander said, snatching one up himself and putting it promptly, importantly on his head. "Let's go."

"An adventurer's cap," Alexander offered, adjusting his until it was at a proper jaunty angle. "I made them for us today, too."

He did pause, realizing what he said.

"I've been sewing quite a bit today."

Distraction was good.

Maladicta just stared for a moment before taking his hat. "Did you make one for Faramir?" She asked, trying to place him in the inside pocket of her jacket.

...because that was a good idea.

"Yes," Alexander shifted a little sheepishly. "Both regular sized and owl sized, since I had a feeling we would be needing them soon, though I would not know what state he would be in. It's...err...traditional in my family."

"You have a very unique family," Maladicta informed him slowly.

"You don't even know the half of it," Alexander said wryly. "When Father tried to pass his on to one of us, he was actually struck horribly ill the moment it left his hand..."
