With his first semester at Fandom High over, Alexander figured he'd better take the time to write a letter back home to his parents to let them know how things were going. He sat at his desk, a quill and inkjar at hand (of course, he knew about pens and such now, but they just didn't feel the same), and he started to write:
Dear Mother and Father and Rosella...
His hand was neat, but slow, having never really had much formal training in reading and writing until only a few years ago, and it mostly stuck with how he felt he was flourishing well with this situation. He, of course, made no mention of magic use, either by himself or others, or how he still hadn't really stopped thinking about Cassima whenever he had a moment to himself, or how all his attempts to find the Land of the Green Isles has continued to come up without success. None of that. He mostly talked about how he'd done in classes and how he'd made a few friends, and there was some teasing Rosella about how she might get along with some of the girls here because they were so much like her.
Writing the letter did make him a little homesick, too, which was such a strange feeling for him, because Daventry hadn't even been his home for very long at all. He'd been in Llweder longer than he'd been in Daventry, but, still, every so often, he'd stop and look at his ring set beside his stack of parchment on the desk and sigh a little before getting back to writing.
[[ what the crap, a room post? This is seriously the first room post I've made for Alexander since he started. That's...special. Either way, door and post are both open! ]]
