I semi-finished Infinite Undiscovery... I got to the final-final boss... which is far for me (I tend to start games and not finish them... the ones that I do complete are the ones that I find I get attached to. It's not a "series" that I like, it's individual games (example, I'll finish one FF game, but not another. btw I haven't finished a FF game since FF9 and before that FF4.. would have been FF7 also, but my PS1 mem card died. After dying right before the last Sephiroth fight. ANYWAY)

Anyway, the game has it's issues but was overall non-boringable. The VAs for some characters were 'Ok' but not 'omg terrible'. The characters are the type that you get somewhat attached to (well, most of them). Lots of twists and turns and the game is incredibly story driven.
Lots of things to poke around at, character-wise - If you grab one character (it's called 'connecting') and lead them around town/city/village you can use them to talk to different people. You'll sometimes get a different response or a side scene will occur. Out in the field, if you connect with a character, you can use their personal abilities (like using Aya's bow to hit high or far away targets).

Also I like about it - the battle is real time rather than turn based - and your team mates help you out on their own. If your HP is low, they'll heal or if someone KO's or has an ailment, they'll help them out - especially if you have a healer in the group at the time.
Another great thing - It's all linear. Theres no load times other than to load a cut scene or to go from field map to a city/town/dungeon. You can go across a long desert without a single load. The monsters are already laid out on the fields, so you just run at them and attack, or avoid them when you see them.

The only bad things I've seen is the lip-syncing rarely matches up (but thats cosmetic and nothing else), they don't always tell you where your supposed to go or when. You kind of have to take initiative - or explore around. It's open ended that way. The last thing, which I've only had to tackle with a few times thanks to having a healer in the party, is that nothing pauses when you open the menu to go into the items to heal or whatnot... so your after an emergency healing item while things are hitting you....
I've only had this problem when I've had no healer, the healer KO'ed or is busy casting and I need something like, now.
Upside - even if you die/KO and the other party members are alive, they'll resuscitate you... so it's not like end of game if your HP goes to 0. It's only if ALL of the party members KO.

But yeah...
The storyline is basically a 'weak character changes and finds strength to become a hero' kind of deal, with his own ups and downs along the way - a long with the others having their own issues. So... I guess since the characters (or a lot of them) are fleshed out, they are somewhat attachable =p

Overall, I loved this game enough to go all the way to the end... and regret finishing it (the only other game to make me regret finishing was Suikoden II. Suikoden I and Suikoden Tierkreis, I didn't complete... on purpose).
